The Overpayment Recovery Unit's Mission is "to act responsibly and with integrity as we detect and prevent consumer fraud and pursue the collection of overpayments."

The Overpayment Recovery Unit is staffed by trained Investigators who identify and investigate questionable cases prior to benefits being issued.

The Unit is also responsible for the collection of all claims of improper receipt of Ohio Works First benefits, day care, food stamps and Medicaid. The unit also works to collect overpayments In child support.
