The Human Resources Department exists to provide resources to promote an internal partnership, which will foster independence and effectiveness through the delivery of quality services.
Overview
The Human Resources office of HCDJFS administers a wide variety of human resources-related services to the employees of HCDJFS. Because employees are our most important investment, our goal is to help with benefit questions on a variety of topics such as:
• Health Insurance
• Worker’s Compensation
• FMLA
• OPERS
• Deferred Compensation Plans
• Policy Clarification
• Mediation/Conflict Resolution
• Career Development
Other Human Resources’ functions include:
• Identifying staffing needs, recruiting, initial screening of applicants, follow up letters, background checks and testing of applicants
• New hire orientation
• Job descriptions, EEO, Civil Rights Plan, employee discipline, the development of personnel policy and procedures, personnel records, performance measures, job analysis and staff development
• Tuition Reimbursement Program
• Labor/Employee Relations program which includes a comprehensive program to foster a positive relationship with
employees and employee representatives in the matters of wages, hours and working conditions, negotiates and
administers the collective bargaining agreement and grievance processes
