Meet our WONDERFUL CHILDREN awaiting permanent families.....

MEET SIMON
Photo of Simon - Adopt a child in Huron County Ohio Simon is a friendly, energetic 12 year old with a million dollar smile. Believe it or not, Simon really enjoys school. His teachers say he is very motivated to learn and takes great pride in his academic achievements. In fact, he has won special awards for his handwriting ability. Simon is an avid reader which makes trips to the library one of his favorite activities. However, Simon doesn’t spend all of his time with his nose in a book! His foster family says that he is a fun child to spend time with especially outdoors because he loves sports including soccer, volleyball, and basketball. He also likes to get out of the house and ride his bike. Simon is outgoing and engaging so he enjoys being around other kids, but also would enjoy the special attention that an only child or the youngest in the family receives. Simon does miss his twin sister who lives with another family. It is important to Simon that his permanent family be willing to let him talk to and see his sister sometimes. Simon also wants what all kids need from a family, structure, patience, and, most importantly, to be loved and accepted.

If you think you could be the family Simon is looking for, please call Suzie Sidell at Huron County DJFS

MEET SERAH
Photo of Serah - Adopt a child in Northern Ohio Twelve year old Serah will tell you that some of her favorite activities are swimming and riding her bike. You’ll also find that Serah likes to play dress up, especially if the clothes are purple, her favorite color. Serah’s foster mom says that she loves helping out around the house and especially likes to help cook. Serah is outgoing and makes friends easily. At school, Serah’s teachers say she is easy to get along with in the classroom and does her best when she receives the time and attention she needs to stay on task. Serah is working hard at school, especially on developing her reading skills. The experiences Serah has had make it difficult for her to always be on her best behavior. Like all kids, Serah needs her permanent family to support and guide her through the tough stuff. Serah also has a twin brother who lives with another family. It is very important to Serah that her permanent family is willing to let her talk to and see her brother sometimes.

If you think you might be the family Serah is looking for, please contact Suzie Sidell at Huron County DJFS at 419-663-5437 x 3221.

MEET ANGEL
Photo of Angel - Adopt a child in Ohio The first time you meet nine year old Angel, she might seem shy, but once you get to know her, you'll see what a bubbly personality she has. Like other girls her age, Angel likes playing with her dolls and stuffed animals and doing her hair. Angel's foster mom says Angel really enjoys helping out around the house. Angel also enjoys school and makes friends easily. Her teachers say she puts a lot of effort into her work and that she does best when she gets the time and assistance she needs to stay on task. Like all kids, Angel wants a family to help her feel safe and secure. It may take her some time to warm up, so she’ll need a new family to be patient with her. Angel will tell you that she is looking to be loved and accepted by a permanent family.

If you think you may be the family Angel is looking for, please contact Suzie Sidell at Huron County DJFS at 419-663-5437 x 3221.

MEET BRAD
Photo of Brad - Adopt a child in Huron County Ohio Fifteen year old Brad never misses a Cavs game if he can help it and he will tell you that he is LeBron James' "biggest fan." This may be why he enjoys spending a lot of his time outside playing basketball. He is an avid sports fan who enjoys collecting memorabilia and athletic cards. Brad also has a fascination with city skylines and loves to take pictures of the cities he has visited. Brad's foster family says that structure is very important to Brad. He likes things neat and orderly. They really appreciate that he keeps his room spotless! As you can imagine, Brad's experiences have made it difficult to form new and trusting relationships. He is quiet at times and needs a bit of prompting to open up. Like most young men, Brad wants a family to provide support and guidance as he plans his future. He needs a family who can spend some time helping him establish goals for his life.

If you think that you might be the family that Brad is looking for, please contact Suzie Sidell at Huron County DJFS at 419-663-5437 x 3221.

MEET JIMMY
Photo of Jimmy - Adopt a child in Huron County Ohio Jimmy is a handsome young man with a beautiful smile that lights up a room. He is very energetic and, like most kids his age, loves playing video games, sports, and eating. Jimmy is a star athlete at his school and has done a good job keeping up with his academics. As you can imagine, some of Jimmy’s experiences have left him anxious and upset at times. However, therapy has helped him become much more expressive with his feelings. Jimmy’s foster dad says he has come a long way and does best when he receives praise and guidance. At school, Jimmy’s teachers say that he does well when provided the extra assistance he needs to stay on task. Some of Jimmy’s anxiety is related to his desire to have a permanent family, one that can establish a healthy and nurturing relationship with him and continue to provide him with the support and structure that all kids need.

If you think you could be the family Jimmy is looking for, please call Suzie Sidell at Huron County DJFS at 419-663-5437 ext. 3221.
