Stars of the futureWelcome to Huron County Job & Family Services

Many working families from Norwalk and the surrounding communities of New London, Bellevue, Monroeville, Willard, Plymouth, and Greenwich struggle to make ends meet due to low-wage jobs, loss of a job or other unforeseen circumstances. This is evident by Huron County’s high unemployment rate.

Huron County Department of Job & Family Services offers a wide variety of programs designed to help Huron County residents maintain a healthy lifestyle, while obtaining and/or keeping employment, and gaining independence.

Some programs we offer: adoption, child care, child support, Medicaid, Ohio Works First, disaster services, the Prevention, Retention and Contingency program, child and adult protective services, and food stamps.

These programs are administered by 100 full-time and 5 intermittent county employees. They are familiar with the challenges facing our customers and work with individuals and families to help meet their needs.
